What is the Workflow Design Canvas?
A free planning tool from Mode Lab for solo operators and small teams. Start with meeting follow-through, proposals, client updates or research briefings, then map the information, people, possible AI assistance and human review the work needs.
How do I use it, and what will I get?
Choose a workflow, answer one question at a time and review the diagram as it changes. Download a PDF or text version with your workflow, responsibilities, unanswered questions and one practical experiment. The result is a starting design to test, not a validated or running system.
Does it run AI or connect to my tools?
No. The canvas uses predefined workflows and your selections. It does not run AI, connect to your apps or carry out the work. You do not need an AI subscription or an API key.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
The canvas and downloads are free. No account, email address or meeting booking is required. A conversation about your specific requirements is optional.
What happens to my answers?
Your choices stay in this browser tab for the session. PDF and text downloads are created in your browser. Selecting answers does not send them to Mode Lab; copying and sharing your notes is a separate choice. Keep confidential information out of the canvas.
